The Home and Garden Show at Capel Manor is extremely excited to announce that The BBC's ‘The One Show’s’ resident gardener Christine Walkden will be appearing at The Show on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June 2017.Christine is a highly respected horticulturist and plants woman, who has lectured both nationally and internationally and has a very special connection with Capel Manor.

As an acclaimed TV and Radio presenter, Christine is a past presenter of the much loved BBC’s ‘Gardeners World’, as well as presenting her own national shows ‘Christine’s Gardens’ and ‘Glorious Gardens from Above’ for which she won a Royal Television Society Award for Best Daytime Series.

Christine is also a member of the BBC’s presenter’s team covering the world famous Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows and also appears on the BBC Breakfast Show GMTV as well as Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners Question Time’.

The awards have come thick and fast for this popular garden celebrity as Christine was the winner of the best newspaper/magazine columnist/reporter of the year 2012 as well as THEHORTCHANNEL.TV prestigious Television/Radio Presenter of the year in 2012. In 2014, Christine became the Amateur Gardening magazines TV gardener of the year.

Christine's regular appearances on both television and radio have spurred her on to write and publish several highly successful books. ‘The House Plant Almanac’, ‘A Year In Christine’s Garden', 'The Secret Diary of a Garden Lover', ’No-nonsense Vegetable Gardening', and the 'Christine Walkden's No-nonsense Container Gardener’ which was a finalist in the 2103 GMG Practical Gardening Book of the Year Awards.

Christine has also submitted many articles for specialist societies such as the Alpine Garden Society and the Hardy Plant Society and regularly contributes to the Gardener's World and Amateur Gardening Magazines.
